AR-15 Basic Plus

This is a great opportunity for you to become Educated and Trained in handling an AR-15 rifle! 

Taking this course will help you learn more about AR-15s and associated equipment. After taking this course, you will have a better understanding of and experience with the AR-15 rifle. This knowledge can be applied to modifying your own, or, for those renting, helping you choose the right rifle for your needs.

We will also include some basic to intermediate drills for this course of fire.

After class instruction. Students will be given a chance to pick up a bite and we will meet at the firing range 2:00pm sharp!

Firing range - Blackhawk Range 12135 Jarratt Rd, Atascosa, TX 78002

Equipment (minimum required):

• • AR-9/AR-15

  • You can rent an AR15 if you do not own one from us. This includes ammo.

  • 2 magazines for your AR-15

  • 200 rounds of ammunition minimum (5.56mm or .223 caliber) 

    • NOTE: No Incendiary/Tracer-rounds

  • Layered clothing (be prepared for varying types of Texas weather)

    • Something with pockets that can hold AR-15 magazines (Otherwise, you will need to bring a sturdy belt & Magazine Pouch Holder)

  • Shoes that can be in dirt (No sandals)

  • Eye Protection

  • Ear Protection

  • Water (for range)

• Additional Equipment (recommended):

  • Rifle Sling

  • Sturdy Belt

  • Magazine pouch/holder for your AR-15 magazines

  • 3+ magazines for your AR-15

  • Additional AR-15 Ammunition (5.56mm or .223 caliber)

  • Cap
